Description

Enjoy participating as a Facebook Live studio audience while TERENCE HANSEN and BROOKE "MADAME" MACKINTOSH collaborate on a once-in-a-lifetime performance of originals and taking requests as a duo in the round! (Please note that this show is in The Rockwell Listening Room, on the ground floor of The Rock Building at 268 Main Street.)

For more than 20 years, virtuoso guitarist/singer/songwriter/producer Terence Hansen has been performing his own compositions, popular standards, and classics to audiences in the USA and Europe using his version of the tapping technique on two guitars simultaneously—while singing. Terence's music has pop, prog rock, jazz, funk, Latin, ambient, and blues influences, with lyrics and vocals reminiscent of Pink Floyd. Terence performs on his unique Dutch-made custom-built 'crossed neck' acoustic and electric Heeres guitars.

Terence's unusual approach to guitar playing has been featured on tracks with Rik Hoogendoorn (actor), Richard Heijerman (Herman Brood), Rich Wyman (Van Halen), Jos Van Oost, Isaiah Stewart, Randy Brecker (Brecker Brothers), Tom Scott (Joni Mitchell), Deodato (Earth Wind and Fire), and Jamie Glaser (Jean Luc Ponty), Hugh McDonald (Bon Jovi), as well as movie soundtracks, toys, aquariums, and commercials. Terence has opened for artists such as Robert Palmer, Jennifer Batten, Gary Hoey, Neil Zaza, and Bumblefoot, as well as headlined Zappanale 22 (Germany), the Spijkenisse Festival (Holland), the Den Haag Guitar Festival, Guitar Nation (London), Hellevoutsluis Guitar Festival, and has been featured in GitaarPlus Magazine and recently GuitarWorld.com.

Terence was also a subject of the Dutch-made documentary film Two Men and Their Guitarz (2017) and is featured in the concert movie, BeatALS (2018). Terence's 10th album, Baktune (2018) is his first purely instrumental album with his crossed-neck acoustic guitar trio. Terence was recently awarded Best Independent Live Artist of 2019 and Best Guitarist 2020 by Scorpius Magazine.

Terence will be releasing his 12th solo album of original music titled The Ballad of Ben and Ivy in the Fall of 2021.

Host Brooke "Madame" Mackintosh is known for her mellow, acoustic Indie Mountain Soul vibe and for creating, booking, promoting, hosting, and performing with a long line of special guests in The Spice of Life Variety Show, where she introduces other amazingly talented artists by performing in a uniquely collaborative live music experience.

Since she began her musical journey in San Diego, CA, in 2006, Mackintosh has released multiple albums including "Blue Skies Await," "Monarchs", and a self-titled album in 2013. She has been nominated for Best Pop Album ("Monarchs" - San Diego Music Awards, 2011), Best Local Artist (Indie Ogden Awards, 2015), and Artist of the Year (Josie Music Awards, Nashville, 2017).

Doors to the ground-floor Rockwell Listening Room open at 6 p.m. with music starting at 7 p.m.

COVID | How we scrub the air at The Rock: Our new HVAC system features Global Plasma Solutions' Needlepoint Bipolar Ionization technology, which safely cleans indoor air without producing ozone or other harmful byproducts. This patented technology produces a high concentration of positive and negative ions, which attach to unwanted particles, making them larger and easier to filter. When ions come in contact with pathogens, they disrupt the pathogens’ surface proteins, rendering them inactive. This system also saves up to 30 percent on energy consumption and lowers our carbon footprint.
