Description

Psychedelic American rock and roll in the tradition of the Grateful Dead! This weekend, The Rock welcomes AIKO back to the O.P. Rockwell Music Hall stage! Forged in Nashville, TN, in 1984 in the spirit of the great jam bandmasters, the Grateful Dead, Aiko fuses various elements of American rock, folk, psychedelia, country, and bluegrass into lengthy instrumental jams. Aiko is made up of an eclectic group of musicians from around the country. Three of the four original band members, Ben Anderson (bass/vocals), Steve Ballenger (lead guitar/vocals), Ross Mason (drums) were joined in the late '90s by three additional musicians: Steve Krafft (lead guitar/vocals) and Lance Deal (drums). In more recent times, the band has added Scott Fernandez (keyboards) and Jessie Krafft, and Michelle Yahn (vocals). Aiko has played to crowds at bars, amphitheaters, and festivals around the U.S. for the last 40 years.

Doors open at 8 p.m., music begins at 9:15 p.m.
